Our History
Welcome to Women Support Girls, Women Support Each Other (WSGWSE)—an uplifting non-profit sisterhood based in Muncie, IN. Led by founder Albone Kelly, entrepreneur and business owner, our mission is to build a supportive community that uplifts and empowers women and girls from all backgrounds, including those facing adversities like domestic violence, homelessness, poverty, incarceration, abuse and barriers to education. Through community resources, crisis assistance, career development, youth programs, coaching and support groups, we help women grow beyond obstacles.
Ms. Kelly draws directly from her own story of overcoming tremendous struggles as a young, single mother putting herself through college while raising two boys. Now, she reaches out to support other women battling challenges, having walked in their shoes surviving domestic abuse, losing her home, along with continuous efforts to diminish her spirit. Ms. Kelly founded WSGWSE to provide women and girls the critical support and strength she once needed during her hardships. Not only did she earn an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting and a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, she evolved through her challenges with deepened empathy and resilience.
At WSGWSE, we foster healing and advancement for women from all backgrounds, enabling them to uplift their families and communities. By providing academic mentoring, life skills and mentoring for their children as well, we forge brighter futures generationally. We invite all women and girls to join our circle built on empowerment and sisterhood. Every story holds power. Women Supporting Women is dedicated to empowering women of all backgrounds through education, collaboration, and unwavering support. Our organization provides the resources and sisterhood to help women grow holistically and realize their full potential.
Our Founder
Founder Albone Kelly draws from her profound experience overcoming homelessness, abuse, and other steep odds stacked against her as a young single mother putting herself through college.
After facing discrimination and efforts to diminish her spirit throughout her remarkable journey, Ms. Kelly’s grit fueled her to not one—but multiple college degrees, an entrepreneurial business, and now the creation of her supportive non-profit WSGWSE.
Her empathy, resilience and determination to uplift other women grew as she helped raise two sons while earning an Associate’s in Medical Assisting and a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Management. Ms. Kelly aims to be the compassionate, relatable support for women she once desperately needed.
